Latvia’s Interior Affairs Minister Sandis Ģirģens has received recommendations for three candidates to approve as the next chief of State Police.
Earlier three police officers had applied for participation in the selection process: vice-chief of State Police Main Administrative Department Col. Normunds Grūbis, acting chief of State Police Gen. Andrejs Grišins and chief of Riga Region Police Department Gen. Juris Šulte.
As part of the selection procedure, candidates were to submit their vision for the development of Latvia’s State Police in the next five years, work priorities and necessary reforms.
Candidates presented their visions to the selection commission on 13 July. During the selection procedure, candidate assessment was delegated to Eiro Personāls company. Experts used in-depth interviews and ability and personality assessment test ProfilesXT, the ministry notes.
It is not possible to analyse candidates’ submitted vision for State Police’s development because documents submitted as part of the selection process are confidential.
