Issuance of travel warning for Paris by Germany

Germany issued a travel warning for the region that includes Paris as well as for the French Riviera on Monday evening due to high numbers of coronavirus cases.

A statement from the government’s Robert Koch Institute said the regions of Île-de-France and Provence-Alpes-Côte d‘Azur are now classified as “risk areas,” along with other places where there is an “increased risk of infection” of the virus.

Areas are considered risky based on various factors, including whether the number of new infections exceeds 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants over seven days.

People entering Germany who have spent time in a risk area at any point within 14 days prior to arrival will be subject to a mandatory COVID-19 test and may be subject to self-quarantine depending on regional rules.
