During this year’s Līgo celebration – 23rd and 24th June – public transport services in Latvia will not be free of charge. At the same time, however, certain discounts and benefits will be in place, as reported by Riga municipality.
As previously reported, to prevent crowds from forming and ensure compliance with COVID-19 restrictions, Riga City Council’s interim administration made this decision on 11 June after consulting with epidemiologists.
From Saturday, 20 June, until 24 June public transports (buses, trolleybuses and tramways) in Riga will be operating from their weekend schedule. When planning travel, Rīgas satiksme invites residents to check timetables at www.rigassatiksme.lv or using information hotline 20361862.
On Monday, 22 June, paid parking in Old Riga territory (R zone) will be open 06:00 – 24:00. In Vecāķi (V zone) paid parking will be open 08:00 to 20:00 according to current tariffs. Other paid parking zones serviced by Rīgas satiksme in Riga municipality will be allowed to be used free of charge on 22 June.

The underground parking located on K. Valdemāra Street 5a near the House of Congress will work in accordance with existing tariffs prior to and during the holiday.
Over 20 countries as well as the Estonian representation of the Nordic Council of Ministers express support in a common declaration to Baltic Pride 2020, which was originally set to take place in Tallinn on June 1-7, but due to the COVID-19 situation, it will instead be celebrated digitally on June 22-28.
