On the first day of early elections in Riga, 20 383 or 4.82% of residents with voting rights used the option and cast their votes early. In municipal elections of 2017 the right to cast their votes early was used by 20 084 or 4.71% on the first day of early elections, which is 0.11 percentage points less in comparison.
Activity was the highest at railway station Vecāķi election site, because of the 1 316 voters registered there 138 or 10.49% cast their votes on the first day of early elections.
Similar activity was observed in Teika micro-district’s 84th election site, situated in Riga Teika Secondary School, where 229 or 8.39% of the 2 729 voters registered there decided to vote on the first day of early elections. At the 82nd election site in Teika, which is located in the Non-government Organizations House, 186 or 8.79% of the registered 2 116 voters took part in early elections.
High activity was also observed in Bieriņi – 221 or 7.72% of registered voters came to the 121st election site located in Riga English Gymnasium.
